The Nature of a Grifter

Those of you who are familiar with my YouTube channel are fully aware that I have spoken quite a bit about grifters both within the “Manosphere” as well as some others who have pretended to be within the ‘sphere or critics of those within it. While I did identify some of these people and discuss what their lies and scams were, I did not get into their natures.

Before we get to that, I will briefly cover my own definition of a grift. I am aware that others use the term “grift” in a more neutral context more akin to a “niche”. When I use the term I am usually using it in describing a scam being perpetrated by a dishonest scumbag. Also keep in mind that this is discussing grifts that involve using social media as a backbone to selling said grift. With that out of the way, let’s move on to some common traits of grifters.

Entryism

At least half of the grifters featured in my Guilty Grift X series of videos began their grifting careers through this method. These types can seem to spring out from nowhere and somehow have a loyal cult following. What seems to occur is that the grifter becomes aware of a phenomenon, philosophy, movement, or in our case praxeology and determine that there is easy money to be made with little effort involved. They study it quietly, listening to the largest content creators to get a basic understanding of the concept before making their move to become a content creator themselves.

What happens next is that the entryist grifter must find a way to use the previously mentioned larger content creators platform and material in order to facilitate their own growth within the community. This is how DDJ / Misandry Today / Bob Lewis managed to get as far as he did since he first came onto the Turd Flinging Monkey show as a guest and sold himself as a legal expert who managed to win in not only one divorce case, but two. Soon DDJ was an integral part of and co-host of TFM’s shows where he would commit Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) live on the air before he betrayed TFM to move on to what he thought were better pastures. MGTOW Dictionary was attempting a similar strategy with the black pill but eventually settled on a strategy of attacking Rollo Tomassi and others from the Rule Zero crew in an attempt to sell his own snake oil product to young men who are lacking in confidence and strong masculine mentorship.

Lack of (Legitimate) Marketable Skills

While you could argue that entryism and being able to sell snake oil are skills, I am referring to skills for making an honest living. Often when you discover the truth about many grifters you will find that they have no certified skills, college degree, or little to no experience in anything viable, let alone what they are trying to sell their audience. The one thing that they do seem to be skilled at is identifying suckers for their predatory schemes and inventing a false persona for themselves in order to do it.

The Gamma Male is an archetype made popular by Vox Day’s Socio-sexual Hierarchy. I would classify each and every grifter that I have encountered or spoken about as a Gamma. For those readers who are unaware of the Gamma Male concept, think of a male who possesses a toxic female mindset, also known as “bitch brain”. And if that is not bad enough, there is the “Secret King” part of the equation.

The Secret King delusion should be a fairly easy concept to understand. Think of someone who believes that they are a king, but no one around them recognizes it. “Why can’t they all see how special I am?!”. This causes them to seethe because it is a blow to their narcissistic view of themselves. It is also this very same narcissism that causes them to lash out when they feel that they have been slighted even in an insignificant way. The results of this narcissistic rage can range from trolling a chat with sock puppets and disliking a video to doxxing and harassing people and their family members. They may also attempt to get their followers, who are often Omega or fellow Gamma males in on the act to try to do as much damage as possible.

One additional trait that I often see these Gamma Male Grifters showcase is psychological projection. You could look at it in a similar light to the political left’s favorite tactic: “Accuse the other side of what you are doing yourself”. A perfect example of this is again our old friend DDJ. In one of his videos he describes a concept called “the Red Pill blind spot”. He was of course using this as the reason why people followed Rollo Tomassi, Rich Cooper, MLD, Rian Stone, and others but knowing what we know now about DDJ, it is obvious that this is really applicable to him. Much like his constant harping on about “Cosplay Conservatives” while he himself still believes in $15 minimum wage (even after his failed attempt at running for office with the Green Party).

Extreme Secrecy

Since the days of online chat rooms and forums we have all used handles and user names other than our real ones (most of us have, anyways). Personally, I take no issue with that and see it as normal. I also have no issue with someone choosing not to go on camera if they don’t wish to do so.

The grifters, however, often take that to the next level. This is because they create a fake, faceless persona in order to sell their snake oil. A person can be whatever they want to be on the internet as long as there is no way to verify it. As we have discovered over the past several years these grifters hide themselves because if the truth were to be discovered their grift would start to crumble as the lack of congruency is revealed. They sell themselves as being rich, good looking, successful, martial artists, ect. They will make comments about others being “genetic bitches” and other slanderous statements about others while trying to mask the fact that they are not only felons who lack viable skills, lazy, are compulsive liars, thieves, as well as hideous chuds to boot. The skeletons in their closets will always come out. It’s just a matter of time.
